Full job description

Role: Mechanical Fitter - Alternating

Location: HARIBO Castleford

Working hours: 40 (Monday – Friday)

Salary: £48,855.56 plus an operational site bonus

Position type: Permanent

We are on the hunt for a Mechanical Fitter to come and join our alternating Engineering team based out of our Castleford site.

Within this role you will report into one of our Shift Supervisors and will work as part of our fantastic wider Engineering team. To enable HARIBO sugary success, within this role you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth running of our operations via the mechanical installation and maintenance of all machinery and services required within our Production department.

Working hours:

This role runs in line with our alternating shift pattern (40 hours per week):

Week 1: 06:00 – 14:00

Week 2: 14:00 – 22:00

How you’ll contribute to the mix:

Preparing machines to operate at optimum efficiency
Attending machine breakdowns and carrying out maintenance as required; including preventative maintenance
Carrying out bench fitting and installation of new machinery
Following set procedures for permit to work, job recording, firm alarm muting, health and safety and hygiene set systems of work
Maintaining all machinery and ensuring all activities are carrying out in line with the standards expected in the food industry
Carrying out project and commissioning work

A fully completed Mechanical Apprenticeship
The ability to make decisions effectively under pressure
The ability to thrive as part of a team and also whilst working independently
Strong verbal and written communication skills
The ability to effectively use IT packages to a good standard including Word and Excel
