Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a professional Hotel Receptionist with great customer service skills to join our welcoming team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a smooth and pleasant check-in and check-out experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a genuine passion for hospitality. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to assist our diverse clientele. The Hotel Receptionist will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of guest service and organisational efficiency within our establishment.

Duties

Welcome guests warmly upon arrival and assist with the check-in process.
Handle guest enquiries courteously via phone, email, or in person.
Manage reservations and room allocations efficiently using the booking system.
Provide information about hotel facilities, local attractions, and services.
Process payments accurately and issue receipts or invoices as required.
Address guest concerns promptly and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Maintain a tidy and organised reception area at all times.
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest satisfaction.
Uphold excellent phone etiquette when communicating with guests and suppliers.
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and reporting.
Support the F&B team with breakfast service on busy days.

Qualifications

Previous experience in hotel reception or guest services is preferred but not essential.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages such as French, Spanish, or German are advantageous but not essential.
Proficient in using reservation management systems and Front Office applications.
Demonstrates professionalism, courtesy, and a positive attitude at all times.
Knowledge of 4/5 star hospitality standards and guest service excellence is desirable.
Ability to work flexibly across shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
