UCL is a radically different university. Founded in 1826 in the heart of London, we were the first university in England to welcome students of any religion and the first to welcome women on equal terms with men. Today UCL has over 40,000 students and 12,500 staff and is one of the world’s top 10 universities. We have a culture of promoting diversity and sustainability and 30 Nobel laureates among our current and previous alumni.
Ranked 8th in the QS World University Rankings for Arts and Humanities 2026, and with 85% of our research graded 4* and 3* in the recent Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021), UCL Arts & Humanities is recognised globally for both its teaching and research excellence. Alongside traditional arts and humanities departments (English, Philosophy, Greek & Latin, and the School of European Languages, Culture & Society (SELCS)), we are also proud to host Arts & Sciences, European & International Social & Political Studies (EISPS), Hebrew & Jewish Studies, Information Studies, the Slade School of Fine Art, the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES) and many interdisciplinary programmes as part of our Faculty.
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities are recruiting for a full-time Education Coordinator (Taught Programmes) to support particular areas of our taught programmes portfolio (both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught programmes). This is a Maternity Cover position available for nine months from 1st July 2026.
The postholder will provide specialist administration to designated taught degree programmes, coordinating all tasks relating to the teaching and learning activities of students, from enquiry to completion, including supporting committees and processes relating to assessment, student, and programme records. They will oversee the work of specialist Education Administrators who are supporting designated taught degree programmes, leading the team in achieving a high quality and timely service to current and prospective students and staff, and ensuring effective procedures are adopted and documented for dealing with all aspects of the administration.
The post holder will be part of a wider Faculty Education and Student Experience (EASE) team, line managed through the Faculty, as part of our Faculty’s Professional Services (PS) staff community. They will be expected to spend time physically located with the academic programme team(s) they are supporting, on a regular basis. This will be discussed, agreed and periodically reviewed with the Line Manager.
