Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Sunday Cook / Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving meals in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring a high standard of food safety and hygiene. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, experience in food preparation, and the ability to work independently on Sundays. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a supportive environment.

Duties

Prepare and cook meals according to specified recipes and dietary requirements
Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, mixing, and portioning ingredients
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with food safety standards
Serve meals to residents or guests in a courteous and timely manner
Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health and safety regulations
Assist with stock control, including checking deliveries and storing supplies appropriately
Support other kitchen staff as needed during busy periods or special events

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation or cooking is preferred, ideally within a restaurant or catering environment
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
Experience working in a busy kitchen setting, demonstrating organisational skills and attention to detail
Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and culinary practices is advantageous
Prior experience serving meals or working directly with customers or residents is desirable

This role is perfect for someone passionate about culinary arts who enjoys working in a team-oriented environment while providing excellent service. Applicants should be organised, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Pay: £12.75-£13.00 per hour
