Do you want to be part of a service that plays an essential role in your community? Are you available to work during school drop off (am) and pick up times (pm) Monday to Friday during school term time?

Calderdale Council is recruiting School Crossing Patrol Operatives / "lollipop" people to help families safely cross the road on their way to and from school. It is a great way to stay active, meet local people, give back to your community.

No previous experience necessary
Full training and uniform will be provided
Membership of the local government pension scheme
Paid all year round, including school holidays (Pro-rata)

We are looking for punctual, reliable, and community minded individuals from all backgrounds and communities to help children and families cross roads safely on their journey to and from school. In this important public safety role, you will support your local community and help children get to school safely.

The ideal candidate will:

Be self-motivated and well organised
Have the ability to give clear instructions
Have the ability to communicate with and range of audiences
Be able to follow instructions and procedures
Be able to work with minimal supervision
Have some experience of working with the public

This role is based in the UK. Home Office guidance states that candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK prior to commencing employment, either as a UK or Irish citizen, under the EU Settlement scheme or having secured any other relevant work visa.
