About the Role

We are a growing digital marketing agency based in Harrogate, seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial management of the business.

This role is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper looking for flexible part-time work with responsibility for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts in Xero, preparing monthly management accounts, and overseeing VAT submissions.

You will work closely with the leadership team to ensure financial processes are organised, accurate, and delivered on time.

Due to the workload, we need someone to commence this position this month

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using Xero
Manage sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring all transactions are coded correctly.
Reconcile bank accounts and company credit cards
Process supplier invoices and payments
Manage customer invoicing and credit control
Prepare and submit VAT returns via Making Tax Digital (MTD).
Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports
Monitor cash flow and report on financial performance
Assist with budgeting and forecasting where required
Liaise with external accountants at year-end
Ensure financial records are compliant and up to date
Maintain organised financial documentation and filing systems
Maintaining supplementary trackers and bespoke financial reports using advanced Excel functions

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

Proven bookkeeping experience within an SME or agency environment
Strong working knowledge of Xero
Excellent Excel skills
Experience preparing monthly management accounts
Experience managing VAT returns and submissions
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
Good communication skills and a proactive approach

Desirable

Experience working within a digital marketing, creative, or professional services business
AAT qualification or equivalent bookkeeping/accounting qualification

Working Arrangement

Up to 1 day per week (flexible scheduling available)
Hybrid working considered
Based in or within commuting distance of Harrogate
