Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, maintenance, and repair services for a diverse range of equipment and systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, ensuring the optimal functioning of complex machinery and systems across various locations. The position involves travelling to client sites, diagnosing issues, and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiency.

Duties

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and systems at client sites.
Diagnose faults using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
Repair or replace faulty components in mechanical, electrical, or computer hardware systems.
Utilise hand tools and specialised equipment to carry out repairs efficiently and safely.
Install new equipment or upgrades in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
Troubleshoot computer hardware issues, including networking problems and software malfunctions.
Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation and maintenance procedures.
Document all service activities accurately in company systems, including repairs carried out and parts used.
Liaise with the central office for technical assistance or escalation of complex issues.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all service activities.

Qualifications

Proven experience in equipment repair, maintenance, or related roles within a technical environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams.
Proficiency with hand tools, computer hardware, and basic computer networking concepts.
Experience with computer repair, troubleshooting software issues, and system diagnostics.
Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and general maintenance procedures.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently under pressure.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
Valid driving licence suitable for travel between client sites is essential.
Relevant certifications or qualifications in electronics, IT support, or mechanical engineering are desirable but not mandatory.
