Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team. This role involves supporting the preparation and cooking of meals in a busy kitchen environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, excellent organisational skills, and experience working in a fast-paced setting. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive team dedicated to delivering delicious and nutritious meals.

Duties

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients
Cook and assemble meals according to specified recipes and standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to at all times
Support with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying management of supplies needed
Serve meals to customers or clients in a courteous and professional manner
Follow health and safety procedures to prevent cross-contamination and accidents
Assist with setting up dining areas for service

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, ideally within a restaurant or hotel
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen setting
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks throughout the shift
Previous experience in meal preparation, serving, or culinary roles is highly desirable

Pay: £13.00 per hour
