Full job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate individual to support the clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care within a General Practice setting for 20-27 hours per week. The Healthcare Assistant will undertake a range of clinical and administrative duties, assisting with patient treatment, health promotion, chronic disease monitoring, and ensuring a safe and efficient clinical environment. The HCA may undertake the following duties following appropriate training and competency assessment:

Undertake new patient health checks where necessary
Measure and record:
Blood pressure, Pulse, Temperature, Respiratory rate, , Oxygen saturations, Height and weight, BMI
Perform venepuncture/phlebotomy
Carry out NHS Health Checks
Perform ECG recordings
Undertake smoking cessation support and lifestyle advice
Carry out simple wound care and dressings
Remove sutures and clips
Perform urinalysis and prepare specimens for laboratory collection
Administer vaccinations and injections where appropriately trained and authorised
Support chronic disease monitoring clinics (e.g. diabetes, asthma, hypertension)
Chaperone clinicians during examinations where required
Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records on the clinical system

Requirements

Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when needed
Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes
Driving licence preferred but not essential; willingness to learn driving if necessary
Experience working in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not mandatory
Compassionate attitude with a strong sense of professionalism and confidentiality
Ability to follow care plans accurately and adapt to individual needs

Pay: £29,250.00-£33,150.00 per year
