The Vacancy
Lead a great team. Deliver high-profile pensions work. Make a real impact.
Are you an experienced pensions professional ready for a role that offers real variety, visibility and responsibility? We’re looking for an Annual Events & Projects Team Leader to lead a specialist team delivering some of the most important and diverse work in pensions administration.
This is a fantastic opportunity to combine people leadership, technical pensions expertise, operational oversight and continuous improvement in a role where no two days look quite the same.
You’ll take ownership of key annual events and projects including valuations, annual benefit statements, pension increases, annual allowance statements, group life assurance activity and ad-hoc data validation work, ensuring delivery is accurate, timely and of a high standard.
Alongside managing a team, you’ll help drive performance, support development, improve processes and build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and beyond.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will:
Lead, motivate and develop a team of pensions professionals to deliver against targets and service levels.
Plan and oversee key annual events and projects, making sure work is completed accurately, on time and to a high standard.
Monitor quality, output and performance, providing coaching, support and feedback to help the team succeed.
Review and improve processes, identifying smarter and more effective ways of working.
Provide reporting and management information to support oversight and decision-making.
Build strong relationships with employers, members and internal stakeholders, delivering an excellent customer experience.
Support training and development within the team, helping colleagues grow in confidence and capability.
Contribute to wider projects and change activity, representing the team and helping to shape improvements across the service.
Why this role is different
This isn’t just a team leader role — it’s a chance to lead work that is essential to the successful running of pension schemes, while developing people, improving processes and making a visible contribution to service delivery.
It’s ideal for someone who enjoys:
Variety — from leadership and technical pensions work to planning, reporting and project involvement.
Ownership — taking responsibility for major annual events and seeing them through successfully.
Improvement — challenging the status quo and finding better ways of working.
People development — coaching, supporting and bringing out the best in others.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with strong pensions administration experience and the confidence to lead in a fast-paced, varied environment.
You’ll bring:
Strong pensions administration knowledge, including DB and DC experience.
Experience of annual scheme events, technical work and maintaining data accuracy.
The ability to lead a team, manage workloads and deliver to deadlines.
A proactive and questioning mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Strong communication, organisation and time management skills.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
A professional, customer-focused approach and commitment to high-quality service.
Who you are
You’ll be enthusiastic, organised and adaptable, with a supportive leadership style and a genuine commitment to doing a great job for customers and colleagues alike.
Ready to take the next step?
If you’re looking for a role that offers challenge, variety, responsibility and the chance to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.
Join us as our Annual Events & Projects Team Leader and help lead a team delivering some of the most interesting and important work in pensions administration.
