Serving clients for over 30 years we are the chosen provider of independent sector healthcare market data to the UK Government’s Office for National Statistics. Event Manager
We are looking for a highly organised, hands-on Senior Event Manager to join our events team on a temporary 4 to 6-month contract to provide maternity cover from [date], with the possibility of extension. As LaingBuisson’s events portfolio continues to expand, we need somebody who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership, and is as comfortable delivering the detail as they are shaping the bigger picture.
Based in London with hybrid working, this is a role for a true operator — somebody who rolls up their sleeves, gets stuck into the day-to-day execution, and keeps multiple moving parts running smoothly under pressure. You will be responsible for planning, organising, and delivering a wide range of high-quality events that showcase our brand and create exceptional experiences for our audiences.
The successful candidate will combine strong project management skills with outstanding attention to detail, commercial awareness, and a proactive mindset. You will be practical, solutions-focused, highly efficient, and confident managing timelines, suppliers, stakeholders, logistics, and on-site delivery to a consistently high standard.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is exceptionally organised and operationally strong
- Takes initiative and ownership rather than waiting for direction
- Enjoys the “doing” as much as the planning
- Can juggle multiple priorities and stay calm under pressure
- Has a genuine passion for creating engaging, valuable event experiences
- Works collaboratively and brings positive energy to a growing team
- Has hands-on experience in delivering a large Awards event
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact within a dynamic and ambitious events programme.
The annual programme of events include conferences, awards, report launches, webinars and private dinners. The events vary in size ranging from 15 to 1,000 and we hold 15-20 per year. As Event Manager, you will initially report into our Head of Events, then cover for her during her maternity leave, leading our Event Coordinators. Our working days are Monday to Friday and the role is offered with the flexibility to split your working time between the office in London and home. Applicants should note that owing to the demands of putting on live events, there are times, such as the day before and the day of a conference, when you will be required on site for long hours.
LaingBuisson’s annual Healthcare Awards, a premier event which attracts 1,000 senior individuals from across the independent health and social care sectors takes place in November 2026, when the Head of Events will be on maternity leave.
