Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Male Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role is vital in supporting clients with various needs, including those with Autism, Learning disability and Mental Health care. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalised care and support.

Duties

Provide compassionate support to clients in their daily activities, ensuring their dignity and independence are maintained.
Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering positive relationships.
Help clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
Administer first aid as required and assist with medication management under the guidance of healthcare professionals.
Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs or challenges.
Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each client's needs.
Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

Previous experience in supported living, care home or home care is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Autism, Learning disability and mental Health care practices is advantageous.
Relevant qualifications in healthcare or social work are preferred but not essential.
Mandatory care certification is highly desirable.
Acquired brain injury training certification is advantageous.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
First aid certification is preferred; training may be provided for the right candidate.
A caring attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality support services.
