School Site Manager

Employer: Vara Education
Location: Based at a school in Northwich
Hours: 6 hours per day
Working pattern: 7:00am to 10:00am and 3:00pm to 6:00pm
Contract type: Temporary, permanent, full time
Enhanced DBS required
Pay: Competitive rate, depending on experience

About Vara Education

Vara Education works closely with schools to provide trusted, reliable and professional education staff across a range of roles.

We are currently looking to appoint a committed and experienced School Site Manager to work at Weaverham Forest Primary School. This is an important role within the school, supporting the smooth running, safety, security and maintenance of the school site.

The successful candidate will be employed through Vara Education and will work closely with the school team at a primary school.

About the Role

We are looking for someone reliable, practical and professional who takes pride in keeping a school site safe, secure and well maintained.

The role will involve opening and closing the school, carrying out general maintenance, completing site checks, supporting health and safety procedures and helping to ensure the school environment is clean, safe and ready for children, staff and visitors each day.

Key Responsibilities

Opening and closing the school site

Acting as a key holder for the school premises

Carrying out general maintenance, basic repairs and site checks

Supporting the upkeep of the building, grounds and outdoor areas

Ensuring the school site is safe, secure and well presented

Reporting any health and safety concerns

Supporting with health and safety checks and compliance

Liaising with contractors and supporting works taking place on site

Monitoring cleaning standards and helping to maintain high site presentation

Responding to site issues in a calm and practical way

Supporting the smooth day to day running of the school environment

The role may require some flexibility, including occasional out of hours support for school events, lettings or emergency callouts.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

Has experience in a similar site, caretaker or maintenance role

Has good practical maintenance and DIY skills

Can work independently and use their own initiative

Is reliable, organised and professional

Can prioritise tasks effectively

Has strong problem solving skills

Takes pride in keeping a school site safe and well maintained

Can communicate well with school staff, contractors and visitors

Understands the importance of safeguarding and site security

School experience is desirable but not essential.
