Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Plastic Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling plastic Fume extraction Fan units, ensuring high-quality standards are met. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in welding, fabrication, and mechanical work to develop their skills within a professional environment. The position involves working with various tools and techniques to produce precise plastic parts, contributing to the overall success of our projects.

Duties

Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications for plastic fabrication projects
Operate Hot Air plastic welding equipment and other welding techniques suitable for plastics components
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble plastic sheets and parts
Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues during fabrication processes
Measure accurately using basic maths skills to ensure precise fitting of components
Assemble fabricated parts according to specifications, maintaining quality standards
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
Conduct quality checks on finished products before delivery

Experience

Proven experience in plastic welding, with a strong understanding of welding principles and safety procedures - we may consider a metal fabricator who is willing to learn plastic welding
Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and plastic fabrication
Knowledge of welding plastics, including appropriate techniques for each material
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand technical drawings and assembly instructions
Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks
Prior experience in manufacturing or fabrication environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided where necessary

This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to apply their technical skills in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
