We are an independent residential children’s home in East Sussex looking after children with learning difficulties and social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Responsibilities (Day-to-Day)

Ensuring the children feel safe, secure, and cared for at all times
Creating a stable, structured, and homely environment
Acting as a positive role model, offering guidance similar to a parental figure
Supporting children with routines, boundaries, and expectations
Managing challenging behaviour with calmness, consistency, and resilience
Taking children on activities and creating positive experiences
Teaching essential life and social skills
Supporting and promoting healthy relationships with family and others
Completing sleep-in shifts (approx. 7 per month)

Requirements

Strong communication skills
A resilient, calm, and consistent approach
Ability to set and maintain clear boundaries
A caring but firm and fair attitude
Willingness to work weekends and bank holidays
Commitment to learning and professional development
Live within a 40-minute drive of Mayfield
Full UK driving licence (held for at least 1 year)
Right to work in the UK
