Full job description

Location: Vulcan Estate, Exeter

£15–£18 per hour, depending on experience
Minimum 32 hours per week, flexible Mon–Fri, Office Based

About Portal Pizza

Portal Pizza is an independent, fast-growing pizza business in Exeter serving Neapolitan / New York-style pizzas with a twist. We operate from our Magdalen Road pizzeria, our Portal Pizza Café on Queen St near Exeter Central Station and more recently out of our new production kitchen that services the horsebox at Topsham Brewery on the Quay.

We're looking for an experienced and organised Account Manager to keep our bookkeeping, payroll and supplier accounts running smoothly so we can continue focusing on great pizza, good music and looking after our guests and team.

The Role

Full bookkeeping and invoicing — coding, paying and filing
Payroll processing through Workforce
Managing supplier accounts
VAT returns
Stock control and margin tracking
Monitoring expenses and preparing information for accountants, and liaising with them directly
Maintaining records using Xero and Hubdoc
General admin support and project management
Identifying and implementing process improvements
Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to support business decisions
Prepare financial reports, summaries, and analysis to inform management strategies

About You

Minimum 2 years' relevant bookkeeping/accounts experience
Confident with Xero, Hubdoc and Workforce (or quick to pick up similar systems)
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial reconciliation techniques
Comfortable working with invoices, expenses, VAT and supplier accounts
Confident using email, spreadsheets and cloud-based tools
Highly organised and detail-focused
Proactive and able to take ownership of tasks
