Job Introduction

Do you have a good understanding of social housing, including health and safety, rent and reporting and do you want to make a long lasting positive impact in your local community? Then this job is for you!

Horton Housing are currently recruiting for a Housing Officer on a full time permanent contract to work with our established scheme based in Halifax. Working hours are Monday to Friday (35 hours per week) and the annual salary is £27,588.00. You will also be entitled to 6 weeks paid annual leave (plus bank holidays), full training & development and access to our Employee Assistance Programme.

As Housing Officer in our Calderdale IHM (Intensive Housing Management) scheme, you will be responsible for housing management across our accommodation. This includes health and safety, hazard reporting and rent queries, and the management of anti-social behaviour.

Person Specification

Be empathetic and caring, showing understanding and respect to people experiencing difficult circumstances
Have excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to recognise the people we support as experts in their own lives
Be resilient and adaptable with the ability to work to deadlines and remain highly organised
Be observant and proactive, with the ability to identify risk and follow policies
Good ICT skills
An understanding of social housing, including health and safety, rent and reporting
