Trainee Site Operative:

Overview:

IMI Ltd primarily works in metalwork and woodwork manufacture and installation for the elevator and escalator industry. We pride ourself on our workmanship and professional attitude, and you will be representative of the company whilst on site.

Our manufacturing and installation company are seeking a Trainee Site Fitter to work out of our Ramsgate office (but travel to sites in London) ensuring the quality and safety of the lift finishes on various projects. The Trainee Site Fitter reports to the senior site fitter/Field manager and works closely with other site operatives, subcontractors, Head of Production, Head of Delivery and clients.

You will be using technical drawings to fit architectural finishes to elevator lift cars, and escalators. Be safe and confident using hand tools and some small power tools, to expertly fit IMI architectural finishes. Be willing to learn and attend training courses (i.e. lift/escalator access and egress, Scaffold towers etc)

Duties:

· Installation of lift finishes. Architraves and interiors.

· Ensuring that the installation work is carried out in a safe, efficient and professional manner

· Inspecting and testing the lift finishes for quality and functionality

· Liaising with the senior site fitter, the field manager and the clients regarding the progress, issues and solutions of the installation work.

· Active problem solving of defects and communication deviations that may arise during the installation work.

· Contributing to the continuous improvement of the installation processes and standards by providing suggestions, feedback, and best practices.

· You will be required to share driving to and from London with another Site operative using an IMI vehicle so a safe and high standard of driving will also be required.

Skills:

Experience in the industry would be preferable

CSCS Card essential
