Full job description

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic and creative Activity Coordinator to join our team at Healey House.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organising and delivering meaningful activities that promote residents' physical, emotional, cognitive and social wellbeing. You will create a positive and engaging environment that encourages residents to remain active, independent and connected to their community.

This role requires someone who is patient, energetic and able to adapt activities to meet individual preferences, abilities and needs.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organise and deliver a varied weekly activities programme.
Provide person-centred activities tailored to residents' interests, hobbies, cultural backgrounds and abilities.
Encourage residents to participate in group and one-to-one activities.
Organise special events, celebrations and themed days.
Support residents to access the local community when appropriate.
Build positive relationships with residents, relatives and visitors.
Maintain accurate records of activities and resident participation.
Evaluate activities and gather feedback to continuously improve the programme.
Support residents living with dementia and adapt activities according to their individual needs.
Work closely with the care team to identify residents' preferences and wellbeing goals.
Ensure activities are delivered safely and in line with risk assessments and care plans.
Prepare activity areas and ensure equipment is clean, safe and well maintained.
Support the home's overall wellbeing and create a warm, inclusive atmosphere.

RequirementsEssential

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A caring, compassionate and positive attitude.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Basic IT skills.
Ability to build meaningful relationships with older adults.
Flexible and reliable.

Desirable

Previous experience working within a care home, healthcare or social care setting.
Experience supporting older adults and/or people living with dementia.
Qualification in Health & Social Care or Activities Coordination (desirable but not essential).
Full UK driving licence (desirable).
