How will you make an impact?
As a Supply Chain Support Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and compliant execution of Comparator supply chain activities within Clinical Trials. You will support the end-to-end operational process from purchase order issuance to final delivery, ensuring products are ready for study start and delivered according to customer expectations and Thermo Fisher quality standards.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with Project Management, Logistics, Finance, QA, and external suppliers to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and cost efficiency across comparator projects.
Position Summary & Key Responsibilities:
The Supply Chain Support Coordinator is responsible for operational supply chain support of Comparator projects, acting as a key contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure on-time and compliant service delivery.
Purchase Order Management to Comparator Suppliers
Generate BB-Numbers and product specifications
Review supplier documentation prior to PO issuance
Issue Purchase Orders and attachments in GPM and/or Coda according to relevant SOPs
Send Purchase Orders to suppliers
Maintain and monitor Purchase Orders in Salesforce
Monitor delivery timelines and ensure supplier communication
Ensure accurate status updates and documentation management
Coordination of Comparator Incoming Goods
Coordinate pick-up at supplier site with Logistics (and Risk Assessment Team for high-value shipments)
Supervise correct transport conditions and delivery compliance
Issue pre-alerts to Warehouse and QA including required documentation (e.g., CoA)
Ensure receipt of required documentation (CoA, MSDS, etc.)
Coordinate timely booking and QA approval of received goods
Resolve decommissioning issues (Falsified Medicinal Products – EU Directive) in collaboration with warehouse
Distribution Orders & Outbound Shipments
Create Distribution Orders in GPM
Coordinate outbound shipments with FCS Logistics
Ensure receipt of required documentation (Import license, USDA statement, End-use letter, Certificate of Origin, etc.)
Ensure correct transport insurance application per internal guidelines
Optimize shipment cost efficiency (shipment consolidation and courier selection)
Ensure receipt of Proof of Delivery (POD), signed packing lists, and temperature readouts
File and maintain shipment documentation
Invoice & Financial Coordination
Assign supplier invoices and credit notes to correct booking allocations
Coordinate timely payments with Finance
Ensure cash discount deductions where applicable
Coordinate pre-payments with Finance
Support accurate accrual tracking at month-end
Systems & Reporting
Update delivery schedules in Salesforce (monthly, quarterly, yearly deadlines)
Maintain comparator tracking sheets
Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate month-end accruals (customer and supplier side)
Compliance & Process Support
Support Project Management with freight estimates and regulatory/Incoterm guidance
Coordinate destruction of comparator products per SOP
Ensure adherence to all relevant SOPs
Document and file deviations in Global Trackwise
Participate in cross-functional business process improvement initiatives

Internal: Comparator and Distribution/Packaging Project Management teams; Comparator Sourcing; Logistics; Risk Assessment Team; Finance; QA & QC; Goods-In / Goods-Out; P&P
External: Pharmaceutical manufacturers; Wholesalers; Clients (as required)
Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
3–5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably within a pharmaceutical environment
Strong multitasking ability with high attention to detail
Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation skills
Experience working with ERP systems (preferred)
Proficiency in MS Office and related business software
Understanding of logistics, distribution, and documentation control
Knowledge of import/export regulations and Incoterms (beneficial)
Ability to work cross-functionally in a regulated GxP environment
How will you get here?
Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field OR equivalent education with significant commercial content
Experience in pharmaceutical supply chain environment preferred
