Apprentice Playworker – After School Club

Location: Trinity parish church hamilton

Hours: Part-time (after school hours, term time)

Salary: In line with apprentice minimum wage

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic Apprentice Playworker to join our after school club team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognised childcare qualification.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the supervision of children in a safe and engaging environment
Assisting with planning and delivering fun, age-appropriate activities
Helping with snack preparation and ensuring hygiene standards are maintained
Building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
Encouraging inclusive play and positive behaviour
Assisting with setting up and tidying away equipment and play areas
Following safeguarding, health and safety policies at all times

What We’re Looking For

A genuine interest in working with children
Friendly, caring, and patient attitude
Good communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn and complete a childcare qualification
Reliable and punctual

Desirable (but not essential)

Previous experience working with children
Basic knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
