Established in 2007, the group now operates 5 farm shops, cafes, and kitchens. Our shops offer easy access to, fresh local produce and the best staple and culinary delights. Cobbs at Hungerford also has its own Play barn & Double decker Bus café. The group continues to grow both at its established shops and with new shop openings, centred in Southeast England within the next few years.
The Job
You will be the Supervisor and ambassador for our bustling Play barn at Cobbs Farm Shop, Hungerford. You will be part of a small team and be responsible for the Play Barn & Café, children’s parties, customer interactions and of course serving coffee, lunch and snacks with exceptional customer service at all times. The Play barn has a direct link to our main restaurant and our amazing double decker bus café which also is the home of the children’s parties.

- To be the main person discussing and booking children’s parties
- You will also be a party host, so you need to be great with children
- Work as a Barista on our coffee machine serving Cobbs Farm Espresso (full training given)
- To keep the café and servery to the required standards of cleanliness
- To take orders, serve them to the customers and clear away
- Operate the till and cash handling
What's in a day?
A day at Cobbs Play barn is packed full of fun, exciting and one of hard work. One minute we have a private hire, the next we have a busy café full of excited children. You must be able to multitask, as we are a small team, and it really is all hands-on deck. You will love working with children and be able to communicate at all levels.
What sort of hours will I work?
The role of the supervisor is full time; up to 42 hours per week over 5 days. We run 8/9 hour shifts at Cobbs Farm Shop, but these shift patterns will sometimes have to increase during busier times like Christmas, Easter, and bank holiday weekends. You will be expected to work weekends, but you will not be expected to work every weekend.

What qualifications / experience do I need?
- A proven track record in a similar environment is preferred but not essential (drive and passion always wins)
- Sales flair
- Leadership skills
- Big charisma so you can chat easily with guests
- Enthusiasm for hospitality
- To be a foodie
- Coffee enthusiast (preferable)
