Full job description

You will be working with our friendly reception team in order to provide cover for a valued collegue whilst she is on maternity leave.

A dental receptionist is the face of a dental practice, managing the front desk by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, handling billing, and maintaining confidential records. This pivotal role requires excellent communication, multitasking, and customer service skills to ensure a smooth, welcoming, and efficient patient experience.Key Responsibilities

Patient Services: Warmly greet patients and visitors upon arrival, direct them to waiting areas, and notify clinical staff of their arrival.Scheduling: Book, reschedule, and cancel appointments using the practice's diary system to ensure the dentist's schedule is optimized.

Billing : Process payments (cash, card), manage invoices

Answer phone calls, manage the practice email inbox, handle mail, and order/restock front office supplies.Records Management: Update patient files, medical histories, and treatment notes while strictly adhering to data confidentiality regulations.Essential Skills & Qualifications

Customer Care: A friendly, empathetic, and professional demeanor to calm nervous patients and handle queries effectively.

Organization: The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining meticulous records.

Hours: Mon - Wed 8am to 2.30pm (additional hours to cover staff leave)

Pay: Up to £13.00 per hour

Experience:

Medical Receptionist: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: In person
