Full job description

Description

We’re looking for a Press Technician to join our team in Weymouth, playing a key role in keeping our print operation running smoothly and to a high standard.

Working across press, reel-stand, platemaking and mailroom areas, you’ll be responsible for preparing and operating printing equipment, ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining excellent print quality throughout every run.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with machinery, takes pride in quality, and values teamwork in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and set up the press for production, including plate sorting, fitting and webbing-up
Monitor print quality throughout runs, ensuring standards are maintained
Follow job specifications and ensure all required information is in place before printing
Maintain accurate production records, including performance and material usage
Support the delivery of production schedules with a flexible, team-focused approach
Carry out routine cleaning, maintenance and housekeeping across the press and surrounding areas
Work closely with Mailroom, Platemaking and Engineering teams
Operate equipment safely, including forklift use where required
Report faults, consumable levels and any production issues to supervisors
Follow all health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Ideally, experience within a print environment; however, candidates with hands-on machine operating or mechanical experience are also encouraged to apply
Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with machinery
A positive, team-focused attitude and willingness to learn new skills
Ability to follow processes and maintain attention to detail in a production setting
Flexible approach with the ability to adapt to different tasks across the print centre
Commitment to working safely and following health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements
Comfortable working in a physically active role
