Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bustling bar. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team, ensure exceptional customer experiences, and uphold high standards of food safety and quality. The successful applicant will have relevant management experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in bar or restaurant settings, and demonstrate a proactive approach to team supervision and service excellence.

Duties

Manage the day-to-day operations of the bar, ensuring smooth service during all shifts
Supervise and motivate staff, including bartenders, servers, and kitchen personnel
Oversee food production, food preparation, and cooking processes to maintain quality standards
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Organise staff rotas, training sessions, and performance reviews to foster a professional team environment
Monitor stock levels of beverages, ingredients, and supplies; place orders as necessary
Develop innovative drink menus and promote special offers to attract customers
Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to maintain high levels of satisfaction
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the bar area in accordance with health & safety regulations
Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food service alongside beverage offerings

Experience

Proven management experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment, ideally as a Bar Manager or Supervisor
Extensive knowledge of food production, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols
Experience in serving and food preparation within a busy setting
Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team
Familiarity with restaurant operations, including stock control and customer service standards
Background in culinary arts or hospitality management is highly desirable
Previous barista experience or expertise in coffee preparation is advantageous
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
