About The Organisation

NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.

The Role

Managing the co-ordination, planning, compilation and implementation of Medical Education Training Programmes for all Consultants, Staff Grades, Associates Specialists, Junior Doctors, GPs and Medical Students throughout NHS Lanarkshire and all subsequent business and project administration ensuring maximum marketing and advertising.

In this key role, you will:

Producing, undertaking all relevant research/duties and implementing a yearly training calendar for all Clinicians ensuring that all costs fall within allocated budget, spreading events throughout the year and taking into consideration external factors that may hinder attendance(exam dates, etc) to ensure delegates have maximum ability to attend for training and managing the co-ordination of the Major Annual Symposium

Sourcing, reviewing and negotiating with course providers obtaining relevant details/data regarding courses commissioning of providers, effective management of accommodation - viewing, deciding on and arranging course venues and organising hospitality - ensuring all is within budget. Liaising and negotiating with sponsors for course (both prior to and on day) to manage fee support and stand positions

Producing and acting on annual Training Needs Analysis and department activity report research, content & formatting. Managing the overseeing of report production and liaising with printing companies as required, before co-ordinating its distribution to Senior clinicians

What You'll Bring:

The post holder must possess working knowledge of a full range of Senior Administration, Business and Training procedures acquired through training to HND Level with relevant experience within a training environment and/or Business Administration environment. This is vital to carry out duties.

Advanced keyboard skills/qualifications and an in-depth working knowledge and lengthy experience of complex IT packages are required including Microsoft Publisher, Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, Access, Powerpoint, electronic Diaries/Calendars and in the independent analysis of statistical data and producing publications in various formats for end users.

The post holder must have the ability to work autonomously; managing and prioritising own workload within the agreed overall target schedule. The ability to be self-motivated, flexible, pro-active and to possess multi-tasking, interpersonal, time management and forward planning skills is vital. Excellent Communication, negotiation, influencing and motivational skills/training and the ability to deal with and diffuse difficult situations/interactions are required.
