Job Description

Post Title: Project Development Officer

Salary: £30,000.00 per annum. (including outer London weighting)

Hours of work: 35 hour (3 years fixed term Contract subject to grant funding being available and satisfactory completion of a probation period - period to be advised)

Responsible To: Executive Committee.

Purpose:

The Project Development Officer will be developing and delivering The Havering Asian Social and Welfare Association’s (HASWA) Project. The project aims to develop and deliver services to meet the social, cultural and welfare needs of the growing Asian and wider community in Havering.

Key Accountabilities:

· To design and deliver activities and services for the HASWA Project at the HASWA Greenfield centre in an efficient and professional manner.

· To manage the day-to-day operation of the projects/activities.

· Line management responsibility for the Project Assistant

· To be responsible for the recruiting and management of volunteers.

· To liaise with external agencies, including the voluntary sector organisations, local authorities, business contacts, trustees and other stakeholders and clients.

· Marketing and promotion of the projects in conjunction with working with referrals and partner agencies.

· To analyse, monitor, review and develop the project and activities, making recommendations and implementing changes where necessary.

· Management of the project budget with the HASWA Treasurer.

· Supporting the evaluation of the project.

· Working with the Executive Committee in running the project.

· Identifying future funding and sponsorship for the project.

Skills:

· Experience in managing project budgets.

· Ability to develop and monitor projects and the production of management reports.

· Experience of working in the voluntary sector.

· Ability to manage and prioritise workload.

· IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Software packages including the internet and emails.

· Knowledge of the voluntary sectors particularly working with Black and Ethnic minority groups.

· Knowledge of Asian culture, traditions and ability to speak one Indian language as second language.

· Strong written and oral communication skills.

Pay: £30,000.00 per year
