Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Carer to join our care team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to providing high-quality care for our residents. This role offers an opportunity to supervise and support junior staff while ensuring personalised care plans are effectively implemented. A valid driving licence is essential, as the role may involve assisting with transportation needs. The Senior Carer will play a vital part in fostering a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment within our care home.

Duties

Lead and supervise a team of carers, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and professional care
Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and medication management in accordance with care plans
Develop, review, and update individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families
Provide guidance and training to junior staff members to promote best practices in care delivery
Support residents' emotional wellbeing through meaningful engagement and companionship
Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and resident progress using IT systems
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
Assist with transportation duties as required, ensuring safe driving practices are adhered to

Requirements

Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior or elderly care
Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
Valid driving licence with clean driving record is essential for transportation duties
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members
Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to implement personalised care strategies
Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting the wellbeing of older adults
Ability to work flexibly across various shifts as required by the role
