Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to follow care plans effectively. The Closing Date will be 12 July 2026.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support individuals in maintaining their independence by encouraging participation in daily activities.
Follow care plans accurately to ensure the specific needs of each individual are met.
Maintain clear and accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the individual's condition to senior staff.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a high standard of care.
Drive to various locations as required for home care visits, ensuring timely arrival and adherence to schedules.
Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as needed.

Requirements

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
A valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving home visits.
Proficient in English with excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents and colleagues.
Basic IT skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.
A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
