Full job description

Lunch Collection & Kitchen Assistant (Part-Time)

Monday to Friday 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

We are looking for a reliable, organised and friendly Lunch Collection & Kitchen Assistant to join our nursery team. This is an important role, ensuring our children receive their hot lunches on time while maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming kitchen environment.

Main Responsibilities

Collect hot lunches from our Verwood setting.
Transport meals safely and hygienically to our Redhill setting in Bournemouth.
Ensure food arrives on time and is transported in accordance with food hygiene procedures.
Check food temperatures where required.
Dish up and serve lunch for the children.
Wash up and clean the kitchen and equipment after lunch.
Prepare afternoon tea for the children.
Keep the kitchen clean, organised and well stocked.
Follow all food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures.
Carry out any other reasonable kitchen duties as required.

Essential Requirements

Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
Access to a reliable vehicle.
Motor insurance that includes business use.
Vehicle must be roadworthy, taxed and have a valid MOT.
Reliable, punctual and able to work to deadlines.
Friendly, caring and able to work as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Able to lift and carry insulated food containers safely.
Comfortable working in a busy childcare environment.

Desirable but not essential as training will be given

Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or childcare setting.
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to complete one).
Knowledge of food allergies and dietary requirements.
