Full job description

Salary: £29,355 - £33,197 pa including London Weighting (Mulberry PayScale, Grade Damson)

Hours: Full time (37.5 hours/week) worked 5 days out of 7 including weekends, on a rota basis.

Contract: Permanent

We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional individual to join our facilities team as a Cleaning Team Leader.

As Team Leader, you will supervise the Housekeeping and Laundry Teams to ensure our hospice environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming.

Responsibilities include

Lead and deliver an effective cleaning operation ensuring systems and processes are efficient and aligned with organisational goals.
Support the Head of Facilities with the delivery of the annual health & safety and infection prevention control audits, working collaboratively with consultants and staff to achieve high standards of safety at the hospice.
Manage housekeeping equipment and stock efficiently and effectively, meeting the required Trinity standards and fulfil all statutory and regulatory obligations.
In conjunction with Head of Facilities and Health & Safety Consultants, to ensure the internal and external environment is safe and that all relevant risk management activities (including incident management system) are completed to required standards.
Manage and develop staff members in the housekeeping team.

Skills and experience required

Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role within cleaning, housekeeping, or laundry services, preferably in healthcare or hospitality settings.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and approachable manner.
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across teams, ensuring a high-quality, responsive service for patients, visitors, and staff.
Expertise in cleaning and hygiene practices, ensuring tasks are performed to the highest standard.
Strong knowledge of workplace regulations, including COSHH, Infection Control, and Health and Safety requirements.
Highly organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Experience working with clinical teams to ensure patient rooms meet required standards.
Commitment to compliance with all hospice policies and statutory regulations for safe and hygienic clinical operations.
Competent in Microsoft Office packages.
