Residential Children's Workers & Team LeadersEvery Second Care Children's Services

We're looking for Residential Children's Workers and Team Leaders to join our growing team as we continue to expand across the North West.

Locations

Roles are available across Liverpool, St Helens, Ormskirk and Knowsley.

Pay & Hours

Residential Children's Worker – £13.74 per hour.
Team Leader – £15.00 per hour.
12-hour shifts, usually 8.00am to 8.00pm.
An alternating rota of 3 shifts one week (36 hours) and 4 shifts the next (48 hours), averaging 42 hours per week.
Sleep-in shifts and waking night opportunities are available depending on the service.

About the role

Many of the children we support have experienced significant adversity and trauma. We're looking for people who can see beyond behaviours, build trusting relationships and understand what a child may be trying to communicate. This role can be challenging at times and requires patience, resilience and understanding, but it's also one of the most rewarding careers you can have.

We don't expect perfection. We're looking for people who genuinely care, have the right values and want to make a difference. We believe every child is worth the time, effort and commitment it takes to help them succeed.

What you'll be doing

Building positive relationships through key working.
Supporting children with daily routines, independence and life skills.
Planning activities, holidays, days out and new experiences.
Attending appointments including GP, dentist, CAMHS, education and other professional meetings.
Completing care plans, risk assessments and direct work with children.
Writing high-quality case notes and keeping records up to date.
Speaking with professionals, schools, social workers, families and other agencies.
Supporting children to achieve positive outcomes.
Helping create a safe, welcoming and nurturing home.
Team Leaders will also lead shifts, support the staff team and help maintain high standards across the home.

We work in a trauma-informed way, taking time to understand what sits behind a child's behaviour rather than simply reacting to it. We believe strong relationships, consistency and trust are the foundations of good care.

We're committed to delivering care that meets the Children's Homes Regulations and the Ofsted Quality Standards. High-quality care, good recording, reflective practice and positive outcomes for children are part of everything we do.

Self-reflection and reflective practice are central to how we work. We learn from the positives, reflect on the more challenging days and always look at how we can improve. Supporting our children starts with supporting each other.

Training & Career Development

A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is a big advantage, but it isn't essential.

We're looking for the right people with the right values, attitude and willingness to learn. If you're successful and complete your probation, we'll support you to achieve your Level 3 Diploma if you don't already have it.

We provide ongoing training in trauma-informed practice, Positive Behaviour Support, safeguarding, medication, the Children's Homes Regulations, the Ofsted Quality Standards and much more.
