We are seeking to recruit three Driver Operatives as part of our Gateway Cleansing Team with the Neighbourhood & Housing Directorate.

As part of the role of Driver Operative you will be required to provide effective drivng and operative functions to maintain and continuiously improve the image of the council across Liverpool. You will be required to drive and operate a range of company vehicles including a HAKO Citymaster 1650 which will be used to sweep both highway channels and pedestrian footways. You will be required to operate vehicles in accordance with relevent legisltation and company policies and procedures.
In the role of Driver Operative you will be required to work primerily as a lone worker using mechanical sweeping vehicles and will support both weed spraying and leaf clearance as well as carrying out cycle lane cleansing outside of the city centre.
You may be required as part of the role of Driver Operative assist with chewing gum removal, oil stains/spillages, clearance of graffiti, removal of faeces and dead animals from the highway. You may also be required to carry out low level street washing activities using the jet washing equipment installed on the mechanical sweeping vehicles. You may be required to empty street litter bins throughout the city as required.

Weekend and bank holiday working will be essential as part of this role and an additional allowance of £6014 will be paid per annum in addition to the salary quoted.

To fulfil the requirements of the role a full UK driving licence (category B) is required. Knowledge of health and safety requirements and good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
