School Site Manager

Working Hours: Split Shift
7:00am – 11:00am and 3:00pm – 6:00pm

Overview

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Site Manager to ensure the school buildings and grounds are safe, secure, clean, compliant, and well maintained at all times.

The successful candidate will be responsible for site security, health & safety compliance, maintenance and repairs, contractor management, cleaning supervision, and the day-to-day operation of the premises.

Key Responsibilities

Security & Site Management

Open and close the site daily.
Act as a key holder and respond to emergencies when required.
Manage site security, alarms, gates, doors, and perimeter checks.
Carry out daily security and safety inspections.

Maintenance & Repairs

Complete minor repairs, decorating, and general maintenance tasks.
Monitor the condition of buildings and grounds.
Arrange and oversee specialist repairs and contractor works.
Maintain outdoor areas including pathways, playgrounds, shrubs, and fencing.
Carry out seasonal duties such as snow clearance, leaf removal, and gutter cleaning.

Health & Safety

Conduct regular health & safety checks and risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with fire safety and statutory requirements.
Maintain records of inspections, testing, and maintenance works.
Support emergency procedures and site safety arrangements.

Contractor & Project Management

Obtain quotes and coordinate contractors.
Monitor quality of work and ensure compliance with health & safety standards.
Support refurbishment and improvement projects across the site.

Cleaning & Facilities

Supervise the cleaning team and monitor cleaning standards.
Carry out cleaning duties and emergency cleaning when required.
Manage cleaning supplies and stock levels.
Ensure toilets, classrooms, and communal areas are clean and ready for use.

General Duties

Support school events, meetings, parents' evenings, and lettings.
Move furniture and equipment as required.
Monitor utility usage and help reduce waste and costs.
Provide excellent customer service to staff, pupils, visitors, and contractors.

Requirements

Previous Site Manager, Premises Manager, Caretaker, or Facilities experience.
Good practical maintenance and repair skills.
Strong understanding of health & safety and compliance.
Experience supervising contractors and cleaning teams.
Able to work independently and manage a busy workload.
Flexible approach to working hours and occasional evening requirements.

MUST HAVE ENHANCED DBS!!!
