About WiCA
Women in Construction Anglia (WiCA) is a network dedicated to championing, connecting and advancing women across the construction and built environment sectors in the Anglia region. WiCA works to inspire the next generation, support those already in the industry, and drive systemic change through advocacy, events, and strategic partnerships.
Role Purpose
This is a varied, hands-on role that sits at the heart of WiCA's operations. The postholder will combine strong administrative capability with an active delivery remit - supporting the organisation's funding and partnership activity, helping to plan and run events, administering programmes and participant records, and providing information, advice and guidance (IAG) to women looking to enter or progress within the construction sector.
The role requires someone who is equally comfortable managing and reporting on data and processes. They will be required to work on theirown initiative, to attend external events, build meaningful relationships with the intention of growing WiCA and bringing in income, and supporting delivery on the ground. There will be scope for the postholder to take on growing responsibility as WiCA develops.
Key Responsibilities
Funding & Partnerships
- Research and identify funding streams, grants and income opportunities relevant to WiCA's priorities, and support the preparation of applications and bids
- Support the Directors in managing relationships with existing partners and sponsors, ensuring commitments are fulfilled and value is clearly communicated
- Assist in the development and review of partnership packages and sponsorship materials
- Liaise with external organisations, training partners and employer clients to support delivery and administration requirements
- Represent WiCA at relevant events, meetings and sector forums to build relationships and raise the organisation's profile
- Create relevant compliance documents including Service Level Agreements in line with successful bids.
Events
- Support the planning and delivery of WiCA's programme of events, both online and in person, including networking activities, information events and site visits
- Manage event logistics including venue, suppliers, communications and on-the-day delivery
- Assist in preparing promotional materials and logistical support for events and programme-related activity
- Track and evaluate the impact of events and use feedback to help improve the offer
Participant Delivery & IAG
- Provide information, advice and guidance (IAG) to women looking to enter or progress within the construction and built environment sectors.
- Support participants to access relevant training, qualifications and employment or apprenticeship opportunities, including booking courses such as CSCS and Level 1 Health & Safety
- Support women in developing suitable CVs and preparing for construction-related roles
- Work with employers and training partners to source placements and job opportunities, ensuring relevant H&S compliance requirements are met
- Deliver job brokerage support including job searches, application assistance and interview preparation to support job outcome conversions
- Support women once in work to develop and sustain careers in the sector
- Maintain a bank of job opportunities and resources from member organisations and employer clients
- Track progression of candidates
Programme Administration & Oversight
- Administer WiCA's programmes, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for all participants and business clients in line with GDPR regulations and funder requirements
- Input and maintain data within CRM systems, trackers and workbooks, ensuring information is current and accessible
- Prepare project delivery plans, progress reports and evaluation summaries that demonstrate programme outcomes and impact
- Deliver stakeholder programme updates on programmes and projects
- Monitor programme timescales and flag risks or issues to the Directors
- Support the monitoring and reporting of participant journeys through up-to-date records and case management
General Administration & Communications
- Provide general administrative support across the organisation, adapting priorities flexibly in line with delivery schedules and organisational need
- Support WiCA's communications including social media, newsletters and member updates
- Use Google Drive and other digital tools to manage documents, communications and data effectively
- Contribute to the ongoing development of WiCA's administrative systems and processes
Person Specification
Essential
- Demonstrable experience in a strong administrative or coordination role, with the ability to manage multiple priorities to deadlines
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with an analytical and methodical approach
- Experience working with CRM systems, databases or management information systems
- Ability to report on data to evidence impacts, review lessons learnt and improve quality for future
- Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, Sheets etc), as well as Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
- Comfortable working hands-on in delivery settings as well as managing administrative tasks
- Understanding of GDPR requirements in the context of data management and record keeping
- Self-motivated and able to work with a high degree of autonomy
- Commitment to WiCA's mission of advancing women in construction and the built environment
Desirable
- Knowledge of or experience within the construction, built environment or a related sector
- Experience of programme administration in a funded or contract delivery environment
- Familiarity with funding applications, grant reporting or partnership management
- Experience supporting or delivering events, online and in person
- Established networks within the Anglia region
- Full driving licence and access to own transport
Pay: £24,420.00-£35,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Ipswich (Suffolk)
