Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and attention to detail. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your technical expertise in a dynamic environment, contributing to the creation of high-quality products. The position requires proficiency in various welding techniques, particularly TIG welding, along with strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with fabrication processes. Candidates should be organised, safety-conscious, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

Perform TIG welding and other welding techniques on various materials, including sheet metal and structural components
Fabricate metal parts according to technical drawings and specifications
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively
Assist in the assembly of fabricated components into finished products
Measure and mark materials accurately using basic math skills
Maintain a clean and organised workspace to ensure safety and efficiency
Inspect finished work for quality assurance and adherence to standards
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality targets

Qualifications

Proven experience in TIG welding and general fabrication within a manufacturing or workshop environment
Strong knowledge of <LOCATION> welding standards and practices
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
Mechanical aptitude with understanding of fabrication processes and assembly techniques
Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications accurately
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work safely in a busy workshop environment
Prior experience working with sheet metal is desirable but not essential
