Full job description

Overview

We are expanding our busy kitchen team and are looking for a part time Kitchen Assistant. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within catering, food preparation, and hospitality settings. The successful candidate will be involved in various aspects of meal and food preparation, ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

This is a part time role, with 2-3 shifts per week, from 10am - 4.30pm.

Responsibilities

Preparation of ingredients ready for service
Assist with service under the supervision of our chefs
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and equipment in accordance with food safety standards
Ensure all food is stored correctly and waste is disposed of responsibly
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to uphold hygiene standards within the kitchen environment

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is essential
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Willingness to undertake training related to culinary techniques and health & safety procedures
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends
Strong team player with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude

Pay: From £12.80 per hour
