Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PA/Support Worker for our 20 year old son. He has cerebral palsy and lives a full and busy life in kendal Cumbria . The role is to provide essential assistance and support within a care environment. This role involves working closely with him to promote his independence, well-being, and quality of life. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, as he uses an AAC. Communication device, and a caring attitude, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience in care settings or home care is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided. This paid position offers an opportunity to support a budding dj in his love for community gigs, the outdoors and meeting friends. Plus, holiday support opportunities as the family travel

Duties

Supporting individual with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication management
Assisting with the implementation and review of personalised care plans
Providing companionship and emotional support to client
Facilitating outings and social activities
Maintaining accurate records of support provided in accordance with organisational policies
Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent care delivery
Driving client to appointments or social activities as required
Ensuring a safe environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines at all times

Skills

Ideally Driving licence recognised for transporting clients safely
Not essential/Experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable
Knowledge of developing and following care plans tailored to individual needs
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication
Basic IT skills for record keeping and documentation purposes
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with client
Compassionate approach with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team

Pay: £18.50 per hour
