Job Overview
We are looking for a friendly and proactive Shop Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, supporting daily shop operations, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and be able to communicate effectively. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their retail experience within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

Greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their enquiries
Assist customers with their inquiries and provide excellent customer service
Receive and stock inventory
Assist in visual merchandising and product displays
Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets
Provide support to the shop manager as needed
Providing information about products and services offered in the shop
Managing sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
Restocking shelves and maintaining the organisation of the shop floor
Assisting with inventory checks and stock management
Supporting in visual merchandising to ensure an attractive shop display
Handling customer complaints or concerns professionally and courteously
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the shop area throughout the day

Requirements

Excellent communication skills
Previous experience in a Pet retail or customer service role is essential
Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
Ability to sell products and upsell to customers
Basic math skills for handling cash transactions
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Friendly, approachable, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to work flexibly during shop hours, including weekends if required
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly

Pay: £12.50-£14.00 per hour
