Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Worker to join our culinary team at our new Caffe Gelato premesis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to contribute to a dynamic kitchen environment. This role involves various tasks related to food preparation and service, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. Bakery experience would also be ideal, but not essential.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals, including chopping, cooking, and assembling dishes.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Support chefs and kitchen staff in catering and daily service operations.
Handle food items safely, following proper hygiene practices.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Participate in inventory management, including receiving and storing supplies.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, with a background in catering or restaurant settings being advantageous.
Strong culinary skills with an understanding of meal preparation techniques.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration.
