Full job description

We are a friendly village GP practice with a small, supportive team. We are looking for a dynamic, well-motivated person to join our reception team. Previous experience of working as a medical receptionist preferred but not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.

The hours for this vacancy are 13:00-18:30, Mon, Wed, Thu & Fri.

The practice is open from 8:00 am until 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday, and you will need to be flexible and available to work between these hours when additional cover is needed for sickness and holidays.

The role involves dealing with the public face-to-face and via telephone, ensuring messages are recorded accurately and dealt with appropriately, processing prescriptions and triage requests, making and cancelling appointments, printing test requests, along with other administrative duties such as processing mail and scanning, ensuring all communication is dealt with promptly and efficiently.

Good telephone and computer skills, a personable manner, the ability to work well within a team and a good sense of humour are essential.

Benefits include the equivalent of 5 working weeks annual leave plus pro rata bank holiday hours and enrolment into the NHS pension scheme.
