Full job description

Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and customer-focused Kart Centre Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy karting venue. This is a hands-on role where you'll lead the team, deliver outstanding customer experiences, maintain high safety standards at Scotland's National Motorsport Centre.

The role includes regular weekend work, so flexibility is essential, and applicants must have their own transport.

Knowledge or experience of karting would be an advantage, but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Following almost 30 years of dedicated service at Knockhill Racing Circuit, our current Karting Centre Manager will be retiring. To ensure a smooth handover, the successful candidate will benefit from a structured period of shadowing and training alongside the current manager before they take on the role independently.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the karting centre, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning throughout the centre
Lead, motivate, and supervise staff to deliver high standards of customer service and safety
Coordinate bookings with the sales team, overseeing staffing levels and rotas
Ensure the high standards of health and safety are maintained at all times
Deliver exceptional customer service, protecting the excellent reputation the Karting Centre has established as a fun, family friendly destination
Ensure karts, equipment, and facilities are maintained to a high standard

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure
Good hands on mechanical knowledge
Strong organisational and time management skills
A proactive, hands-on approach with a positive attitude
Knowledge of health and safety procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment
Confidence using computer systems for scheduling, reporting and administration
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required
As the role involves working with children and young people, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland PVG check before employment can commence.

Desirable

Previous experience managing a go karting, leisure, or family entertainment venue
First Aid qualification - annual training will be given
