Do you enjoy working outdoors, engaging with communities and taking practical action to tackle environmental issues?
This is a front‑line role supporting Kirklees Council’s approach to environmental improvement, community engagement and compliance. Working as part of the Greenspace Action Team, you’ll play a key part in preventing and addressing environmental anti‑social behaviour and supporting enforcement activity across the borough.
About the role
As a Community & Environmental Support Officer (Environmental Ranger), you’ll provide a visible presence in neighbourhoods across Kirklees. You’ll work directly with residents, businesses and partner teams to improve the local environment, respond to issues quickly and support investigations where enforcement action may be required.
You will work as part of a team tackling personal, nuisance and environmental anti-social behaviour to improve the quality of life for all, across Kirklees. You will engage with individuals, groups and communities and undertake environmental improvement work.
You will enjoy working in the outdoors and meeting a range of people from different backgrounds. You will have an eye for detail and will be able to work proactively with our communities to resolve potential issues before they arise. You will have excellent communication skills and experience of working to solve problems and achieve shared outcomes.
