Location: Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council, Municipal Buildings, Hybrid Working
Contract: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full Time
Hours: 36 hours per week. Consideration will be given for part-time working.

We currently have a position available on our billing and collection team and are looking for motivated and knowledgeable Senior Revenues Officer for our Business Rates Team.

The main duties are the administration of business rates accounts, dealing with customers over the telephone and face to face.

You will be responsible for administration of business rates, granting discounts/relief and exemptions and dealing with recovery of unpaid business rates.

So, who are we looking for?

You will already have knowledge of local tax administration and will be assisting the Team Manager in monitoring and allocating work.

You will have experience of administering Business Rates and/or Council Tax accounts, along with experience utilising a Council Tax system (we currently use the NEC system.

You will be able to produce clear and concise written communication.

You will have the ability to meet challenging deadlines

You will be able to work both as part of a team and also on your own with minimal supervision.

You will have the confidence to deal with a range of different customers and make appropriate recovery decisions based on the current circumstances of each case. You will also be responsible for supporting team members with more complex cases.
