Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this entry-level role, you will be instrumental in supporting the kitchen’s food production and preparation processes, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Duties

Assist senior chefs with food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients and assembling dishes according to recipes and standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety regulations
Ensure all food is prepared efficiently and served promptly to uphold quality standards
Follow all hygiene and safety procedures diligently to prevent contamination and accidents
Support inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages or expired items
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods

Skills

Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices
Strong interest in cooking and hospitality industry trends
Ability to work effectively within a team environment and follow instructions accurately
Good understanding of food safety standards and hygiene protocols
Demonstrated leadership potential with supervising experience or team management skills preferred
Excellent communication skills for serving guests and coordinating with colleagues
Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is advantageous but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is essential
