The Opportunity
Hybrid Asset Solutions is a rapidly growing Facilities Management business based in Swinton, Manchester, delivering hard services FM to clients across the UK. We partner with Tier 1 operators in the Build-to-Rent market and deliver top-tier M&E solutions and specialist services across a diverse and growing portfolio.
We are looking for an experienced CCTV & Access Control Engineer to join our engineering team and support the delivery of security and access control services across our BtR and commercial FM portfolio. You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and fault resolution of access control, CCTV, intruder alarm, and related security systems.
This is a field-based role and requires someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well with clients and colleagues, and is committed to delivering a first-class service. In return, we offer a competitive salary, a tailored development plan, and real opportunities to grow within a business that is genuinely investing in its people.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, configure, and maintain security systems including access control, CCTV, intruder alarms, and related technologies.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of security equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Diagnose and resolve system faults efficiently, minimising downtime and disruption to clients.
- Perform electrical tasks associated with security system installations — including wiring, connections, and power supply configurations.
- Adhere to all relevant safety protocols and regulations during electrical installations and system setups.
- Provide technical guidance and basic operational training to client staff on security system use and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of works completed, including job sheets, compliance documentation, and any outstanding actions.
- Work collaboratively with the wider FM team and report any site issues or risks to the relevant manager.
What You'll Bring
Essential:
- Proven hands-on experience working with access control, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems.
- Strong electrical knowledge, including experience with installations, wiring, and fault-finding.
- Ability to work independently in the field, managing your own time and priorities effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical and accurate approach to fault resolution.
- Excellent communication skills — confident dealing with clients, site teams, and colleagues.
- Full UK driving license.
- Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. This role requires participation in a 24-hour on-call rota, shared across the engineering team on a week-on, week-off basis. When on call, you will be the first point of contact for out-of-hours emergency attendance. Participation in the callout rota is a requirement of this role and will be discussed fully at interview.
Desirable:
- Experience working within a facilities management or property management environment.
- Familiarity with BtR or commercial property settings.
- Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. ECS card, SSAIB/NSI accreditation, or similar).
