ABOUT INFINITE SCHOOLS
Infinite Schools is a specialist independent and alternative provision group based in the North West of England. Founded and led by education professionals, we exist for one reason to give the children the system has failed a genuine chance to belong, to learn and to thrive.
We currently operate two established Wigan sites Marsh Green and Standish both rated Good by Ofsted. We are opening Warrington in September 2026 and Lancashire in January 2027. This is a group at an extraordinary moment in its growth expanding with purpose, rigour and the same relentless standards that built our reputation from the ground up.
Our children do not need more interventions. They need to feel like the centre of someone’s world. That belief drives everything we do and it must drive the person who leads alongside us.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a Group Headteacher position with named responsibility for our two established Wigan sites, Marsh Green and Standish. You will lead the operational and strategic running of both sites, working closely with the Heads of School who run each site day to day under your leadership.
You will join a group at an exciting moment with established Ofsted Good provision, a strong governance framework and a clear school improvement plan already in place. The QA cycle, the SEF and the SDP have been developed by our Executive Headteacher. Your role is to drive that plan forward through daily school improvement, relentless consistency and visible leadership in the buildings every day.
This role requires someone who has the appropriate level of experience to operate at a very high operational and strategic level. We are not appointing a first-time Head into this position. The cohort, the pace and the responsibility require someone who has done this work before, knows what excellence looks like and can hit the ground running from day one.
You will report to the Executive Headteacher with direct access to the CEO and Proprietor.
WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE DIFFERENT
You join a Wigan provision with established LA commissioning relationships and a settled cohort. The foundation is strong. Your job is to build on it.
You lead two sites operationally with strategic input across the wider group. Both are expected and valued equally.
You will walk into a school with a live SDP and SEF written by our Executive Headteacher. The diagnostic work is done. Your role is execution, driving the improvement plan with consistency and presence.
You work alongside our Group Headteacher for Warrington and Lancashire as a genuine peer in a growing leadership team.
You have direct access to and support from the CEO, the Executive Headteacher and a governance framework that is built to scale.
You are joining a quality provision that is ready for its next chapter and you will help shape what that looks like.
THE ROLE WHAT YOU WILL DO
Site Leadership, Marsh Green and Standish
Lead the day-to-day operation of both Wigan sites alongside the Heads of School at each site.
Be present, visible and active. This role is not desk based. We expect you to be in the buildings every day, in classrooms, on corridors, with the children and the staff.
Build and sustain a relational culture where every child feels safe, valued and believed in.
Set, model and enforce daily standards of environment, behaviour and professional conduct across both sites.
Lead staff performance, wellbeing and development directly and consistently.
Own safeguarding, compliance, admissions and inspection readiness for both Wigan sites.
Drive the existing School Development Plan with relentless focus and evidenced progress.
Know your children, your staff and your buildings inside out.
