Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining high-quality food production in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary direction of our establishment while fostering a positive team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation.
Oversee all aspects of food production, from menu planning to execution, maintaining consistency and quality.
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen area.
Develop and implement innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences.
Train staff on proper cooking techniques, food presentation, and health & safety procedures.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Monitor staff performance, provide coaching, and organise training sessions to foster professional development.
Handle customer feedback professionally to resolve any issues promptly and maintain customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment.
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques.
Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse groups of staff.
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations essential for maintaining hygiene compliance.
Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and front-of-house staff.
Passion for innovation in cuisine coupled with a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
