A wonderful opportunity has arisen to join our lovely team at Woodland Day Nursery. We are a small setting located between Pokesdown and Southbourne areas of Bournemouth.
Our passionate staff are dedicated to providing a beautiful, homely environment where children are the heart of everything we do.
We are registered for 25 children daily whose age ranges from 2 to 5 years old.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a dedicated Senior Lead Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly team as third in charge, working with children aged 2–5 years. You’ll help create inspiring learning experiences, nurture every child’s curiosity and confidence, and support our commitment to excellence in early education and care.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and forward-thinking leader to join our team as third in charge.
The successful applicant will be supporting the senior team and working closely with the children on daily basis.
Safeguarding is central to everything we do. All staff play an essential role in protecting children from harm by following robust safeguarding procedures, maintaining safe practices, and being vigilant in identifying and reporting concerns. We expect all team members to uphold the highest standards of care, act in the best interests of every child. Successful applicants will be required to complete safeguarding training, undergo enhanced background checks and provide two relevant references.
Must have a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or above in childcare and education (or equivalent) and childcare experience is essential.
This position is Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week.
Working hours are 08:00 - 17:30 (4x) 08:00-13:00 (1x)
The right candidate will have excellent early years knowledge, the ability to work well in partnership with the managers and other professionals. Strong and effective communication and leadership skills that ensures our nursery team is well equipped to provide the highest standards of early learning and childcare for our children.
This role will be based in the room, with some managerial tasks in office if required. You will be a key worker of the children.

Requirements for this role:
· Full and relevant, minimum, Level 3 childcare qualification minimum. (Essential)
· Experience in managing staff, motivating and mentoring teams. (preferred)
· Previous experience of caring for/working with children 2-5 years. (Essential)
· You must have sound knowledge of the EYFS, SEN, and be up to date on current Government policy and practices. (Essential)
· Outstanding safeguarding knowledge required.
· Be able to build outstanding partnership with parents.
· Good organisational, record keeping and planning skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all.
Unqualifies need not apply as a level 3 or above is essential.
