Whether you’re an experienced Healthcare Assistant or building your career through an NVQ Level 2 or 3, nursing studies, or a Health & Social Care qualification, this is a rewarding opportunity to grow your skills in a specialist environment. Experience with neurological conditions, behaviours that challenge or palliative care is helpful, but the right values, emotional strength and willingness to learn matter most.

You’ll join a dedicated team providing long‑term, person‑centred care for individuals with significant health needs, behavioural challenges and end‑of‑life requirements. This is a hands‑on role where adaptability, teamwork and professionalism are essential — and where the difference you make is visible every day.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Healthcare Assistant at Stanley House, you will:

Support residents with complex neurological conditions and behavioural challenges, adapting your approach to changing needs
Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, shaving, continence support and mealtime assistance
Participate in ward rounds, observe behaviours and contribute to care planning
Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate effectively with colleagues
Provide compassionate palliative and end‑of‑life care, ensuring dignity, comfort and family involvement
Encourage engagement in therapeutic activities such as physiotherapy, art therapy and structured routines
Help residents enjoy meaningful experiences — from community outings to on‑site events and social activities

Stanley House can be a demanding environment, and you’ll need confidence, emotional resilience and a calm, supportive approach. In return, you’ll see the real difference your care makes to people’s lives.

The shift pattern is 12 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including days, nights and alternate weekends. 37.5 hours per week.

Stanley House is a specialist service offering:

A multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, art therapists, a Professor in Neuropsychiatry and monthly specialist GP clinics
Long‑term care tailored to complex and changing needs
A supportive team culture built on respect, collaboration and high standards

Due to the rural location, reliable transport is essential. Taxi or relocation costs are not covered.
